  Daphne (DEFNE) Apollo, the God of Light, son of Zeus, sees a young and beautiful girl by the river. The name of this unique beauty is Daphne. Apollo falls in love with her and wants to talk. But Daphne runs away. Daphne escapes, Apollo chases. On the one hand, the flirtatious God shouts, "Don't run away, I love you." Daphne keeps running because she hears bad things happen to women speaking to the Gods. Apollo is about to catch her beloved Daphne. Daphne realizes she can't escape. Daphne stops, rides her feet on the ground and ‘’O mother earth, cover me, hide me, protect me!’’ she says. Daphne feels her body wooded after begging. A gray crust covers her chest and her hair becomes leaves. Its arms extend into branches, its young feet become roots and plunge into the depths of the earth, turning into a laurel tree.   Surprised by this view, Apollo watches Defne's being a tree with astonishment and sorrow.   THE BOGEYMAN Once upon a time, there was a girl who asked her mother for a ring everyday. In view of such insistence, finally, her mother gave one ring to her daughter. The girl was very happy with her ring. One day, her mother sent her to the fountain for water. She took the ring off and put it on top of the fountain. She filled the pitcher and forgot the ring. Halfway home, she realized what had happened and ran back to the fountain. But, the ring had vanished and the girl found a man with a sack. She asked him about the ring and the man shut the girl inside the sack.   He put the sack over the shoulder and took her away. The man went from town to town while the poor girl sang. The people clapped and were amazed. They gave the bogeyman a few coins. The days went by and the girl did not appear in her house.   WHY IS THE BALTIC SEA SALTY? In the old days Sweden, and in fact the whole Scandinavia, was an arid, unhospitable land. Only the sea created some opportunity for its inhabitants. They ventured further and further, first just plundering, later turning to trade. One of the youngest sailors was Olaf. He had just set off on his very first cruise – to the other side of the Baltic Sea, all the way to Gdańsk. Everything was different here – people, churches, houses, even food. Olaf and other sailors stayed in an inn, whose owner and her daughter would always cook delicious meals. Both women were very busy in the kitchen all the time.
